• Fincham Chorus held its 3rd AGM at the end of June.

Chairman, John Delderfield, reported that there had been six concerts during the past year, each proving highly successful, with compliments galore from the paying public. Concerts included the Christmas concerts held in Fincham and Wereham Churches, (Due to be repeated this year,) the performance at Downham Market Festival of Choirs and the concert held in Swaffham to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday – which raised £800 for Tapping House Hospice.

Director of Music, Mr R McKie, thanked members for all their hard work and commitment throughout the year, especially for the Swaffham concert which had been particularly enjoyable.

He suggested that he was open to suggestions for future pieces of music and possible venues. In particular he highlighted the need for new members, especially men, and even more especially, tenors.

J Delderfield agreed to continue as Chairman and Treasurer, S Westwood will continue as Secretary. In addition, S Reid agreed to continue on the committee and she is joined by Teresa Snow who will help with posters, tickets, etc; and Lesley-Ann Pinches.

There are now 27 members in the Chorus, but, as previously mentioned, new members are most welcome. There are no auditions, all that is required is a love of singing. Members meet in Fincham Memorial Hall on Tuesdays from 7.00pm till 9.00pm. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, though members take their singing seriously.

For further details contact J Delderfield on 01366 348136 or just turn up on a Tuesday. (No rehearsals in August.)
